Meet Trigger️!

He is a male kelpie / shepherd mix, about 40 pounds and 1.5 years old.

He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and fecal tested.

His adoption fee is $400.

At the beginning of December, Stay With Me Animal Rescue got a call about a young dog that had been lingering around a middle school all weekend. Distrusting of (almost) all people, rescuers only managed to secure Trigger from the streets of Arcadia after a young student stepped in to help. Needless to say, this dog is definitely “kid-friendly” AND he adores adults these days, too! Truth be told, Trigger would probably love any human that put him to work or gave him a job to do, as he has a lot of drive and is highly intelligent. He does well with other dogs of all sizes and backgrounds, but we think he would most appreciate a home that has a well-mannered, female doggie playmate. Additionally, a home with a pool for him to swim in and a treadmill to help keep him stimulated would be ideal.

Betsey puts the "RUFF" in SCRUFF!

She is a female miniature schnauzer mix, about 25 pounds and 3 years old.

She is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and fecal tested.

Her adoption fee is $400.

Named after Betsey Johnson for her wild hair, our Betsey is the perfect combination of spunk, sweetness, and sass! Originally saved from the euthanasia list at Maricopa County, this funky pooch was underweight, sick with kennel cough, and covered in mats when she was first rescued. Worse yet, she was terrified of the world around her… Truth be told, we actually didn’t realize she had a tail until a couple days after we brought her home because she kept it so tightly tucked against her body. Although she still takes some time to adjust and has handling sensitivities, the Betsey we know today is a MUCH different dog. While she’s not quite as outgoing as the real Betsey Johnson, our Betsey does indeed appreciate the company of humans and dogs alike, especially those on the mild end of the spectrum! We’d love to see her go to a home with a calmer male dog and patient owners who match her laid back energy. When she’s not fishing for attention from her people or doggie friends, you can catch her laying in the sun watching the clouds go bye or laying on the couch gnawing a good bone. AND, if she’s feeling frisky, you just might see her get the “zoomies” every once in a while, too!

Jeter is looking for a HOME run!

He is a male corgi mix, about 25 pounds and 2 years old.
He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and fecal tested.
His adoption fee is $400.

Jeter and two of his friends were found in Glendale, cruising the canal the day after Thanksgiving of 2022. Lured to safety with chicken sausage treats by two good Samaritan’s (who also double as animal advocates), the three strays were immediately turned over to Maricopa County Animal Care And Control where veterinary work and an owner search could be started. Although ultimately no owner came forward, their finders did come back to rescue them for a second time once they were placed up for adoption. Unfortunately, one dog had already been adopted by the time they arrived (we can only hope it was to a responsible animal lover). Concerned the remaining two dogs (Jeter and Sonny) could end up in the wrong hands, their rescuers actually adopted them in the hopes of getting help from a reputable rescue to find them wonderful homes… and that’s where we came in!
While Sonny has since found a forever family, Jeter is still waiting for his special place in this world. His foster mom describes him as extra cuddly and always quick to snuggle up to her as soon as he gets the chance! Aptly named after Derek Jeter, you can bet that a good game of fetch with this shortstop is an everyday must as well! Being the young lad that he is, Jeter also enjoys running around in the backyard with his doggie friends on the regular and has proven to be compatible with canines of all sizes. What's more, if he needs to cool down after some rough play outdoors, he's happy to take a dip in the kiddie pool!

It's Krazy Kiwi!

She is a female husky / shepherd mix, about 50 pounds and 2 years old.

She is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and fecal tested.

Her adoption fee is $400.

Kiwi, affectionately nicknamed Krazy Kiwi, has more energy and goofiness than any other dog at our rescue! Plus, all the  DRAMA (just like her breed entails)! Not surprisingly, any dog as active and driven as a husky or shepherd requires a breed savvy owner to live a truly fulfilling life… Now imagine when those breeds are brought together to create one puppy. As if that wouldn’t be a lot to handle, picture those two breeds combined into one special puppy that was never properly set up for success in the first place… It only makes sense that you would end up with a Krazy Kiwi! So, naturally, at less than six months old, our silly girl found herself on the euthanasia list at Maricopa County for behavior issues. Fortunately, a rescue stepped in to save her life, however, she spent the next year bouncing around between various foster homes and adoptive homes, until she was ultimately transferred to our rescue in December.
With us, Kiwi has definitely become a better version of her kooky self, especially since graduating a Board+Train program not too long ago! BUT a lazy owner who fails work with her on a daily basis will cause Kiwi’s behavior to regress rapidly. In other words, Kiwi will only continue to become a better dog if she has an active owner committed to keeping up with her training and maintaining boundaries. Furthermore, a house with a pool would be wonderful for this water loving girl, and a doggie play mate or two would surely make her world go round!
